Sustainability and environmental concerns are two of the most important topics for the future of gliding. To secure the future of our sport, we need more women in gliding, more young pilots, and a commitment to transforming gliding into a greener and more sustainable activity.

Sustainability

The European Gliding Union has decided to adopt six of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 as part of our strategy.

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Relevant to Gliding

  • Goal 3: Ensure good health and well-being
  • Goal 5: Achieve gender equality
  • Goal 10: Reduce inequality
  • Goal 12: Promote responsible consumption and production
  • Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change
  • Goal 17: Strengthen partnerships to achieve these goals

We have compiled a selection of articles and presentations to inspire your efforts in these areas. Our aim is to continuously expand this collection. If you know of valuable resources or materials related to sustainability in gliding, please don’t hesitate to share them with us.
